Melcrum Social Media Conference

Yesterday, I spent the day at the Melcrum Social Media Conference with my colleagues Mark, Giles and David. We were there to talk social media, and hopefully make a bit of a noise again.
It was an interesting day of lectures on the role of social media in a business context – whilst many of us may see phonecasting and twittering as just a bit of fun, it’s becoming crucial that businesses think about social media in order to protect their brands and talk to their users and employees. Helen Farrar from Virgin Media made this point when she spoke about how her company use ipadio to talk to their employees. You can hear our pre-conference interview with her here.
The afternoon session started with ipadio’s CEO, Dr Mark Smith give a lecture called The Good, The Bad and the Ugly in Social Media, looking at the impact of social and ‘real time’ media on companies. If you missed the conference, why not catch up with what he had to say? We’ve put it in a page on the ipadio site, or you can listen in the player below:
It was a fun and educational day – and don’t forget, you can catch up with our pre-conference warm-up interviews with the speakers here. if you were there and would like to talk to us some more, get in touch!
