Top Tip: Phonecast to your channel from any phone

Here’s a super-simple tip that you might not know. When you sign up to ipadio you register your phone number with us so that when you call, we know that it is you that’s calling… but did you know that you can also call and post to your ipadio channel from any other phone – even if it’s not registered with us? This same procedure will also work for calls to ipadio from corporate networks that withhold outgoing numbers, and mobiles with caller ID disabled.
If you don’t have your registered phone to hand, or maybe are in the office and want to phonecast, but want to make it look like you’re actually working hard then it’s easy: Simply dial the same ipadio number as usual!
The only difference is that there’s one extra step – when you dial the number from an unregistered phone, ipadio will say “this phone number is not registered, please enter a registered phone number” – at which point, simply enter your registered number. ipadio will then treat the call as if it is coming from your registered phone – so just enter your pin number and speak. The phonecast will then appear on your channel like normal!
Easy! Though if you do need any help with this, leave a comment below.

Hi James
Some corprate networks show as “private” or “number withheld” when you dial out from them. Will this super-simple tip work in this instance too?
jd
Good point – of course it will work. I’ve updated the post to reflect this!
This is great! I was wondering, can I call from another ipadio registered phone and then have it publish to my own account? How would I do that?
Darren – you can indeed and there’s a SUPER SECRET way of doing so! When you call up and it says the phone is registered, simply dial the star/asterix (*) key four times (****) and it will treat your phone as unregistered, and you can follow the instructions above!
Hey James, you Rock! Thanks!
