Melcrum: Bridging The Gap Conference

Yesterday ipadio was at the Melcrum Bridging the Gap conference, subtitled ‘Making Managers Better Communicators’. What struck us most about the entire conference was how ipadio’s business products could help in many of the dilemmas that the delegates encountered in their work.
Bill Quirke, the Managing Director of Synopsis gave the opening talk, kicking off a very interesting and engaging conference. He related the need to identify and break through those areas that made communication difficult. You can listen to our pre-conference interview with Bill below:
Representatives from Aviva gave another talk in the same session – they demonstrated that principle in action. Their communication was bogged down as messages were passed up the ladder with the front line never getting the original message. To clear up their communication conundrum – they had to completely rethink their strategy.
One thing that was clear throughout the conference was the need to tailor the communication strategy to the individual groups – flexibility and multiple types of communication were needed – much like how ipadio clients Virgin Media use FieldTalk to broadcast both national and tailored regionally targeted messages to their people on the ground. It was a good way to start the conference and gave our CEO Dr. Mark K Smith and Business Development Director Giles Bryan plenty to talk about with the delegates!
