London2London… By Human Power
Adventurer Sarah Outen set off on a tricky new challenge just over a week ago. She’s attempting to get from London, England to London, England… via the rest of the world. She’s going to be traveling across Europe, Asia and then North America and the intervening seas and oceans using only ‘human power’. That is to say, by rowing or cycling.
It’s going to be quite a feat (or should I say feet? Sorry) and it’ll take over a year to complete. But we’ll be following her every step of the way as she’s going to be phonecasting updates on how she’s doing throughout.
We’ve linked up her phone with our ‘voiceforms’ product, meaning that when Sarah calls in, she’ll have the opportunity to enter her GPS co-ordinates on the phoneline, which we can then plot on a map on her website. None of this requires a data connection so it’s ideal for some of the varied places she’ll be visiting where data connections may not be available. Her phonecasts will also be automatically posted to her blog.
