New feature: post to your self-hosted Wordpress Blog

For a long time now we’ve offered the ability to automatically post your phonecasts to various social media tools, including Twitter, Facebook, Blogger (Blogspot), LiveJournal and Wordpress.com. But what about if you’ve got a self-hosted Wordpress blog, and have installed it on your own server? Well, good news! We can now post to that too!

If you’ve got a blog running on Wordpress – any Wordpress, anywhere – and want to automatically post to your blog after each call, simply head over to the social media tab on your profile, type in your blog’s URL, and your admin login details, update your details and voila!

Top Technical Tip: For this to work you will need to enable XML-RPC posting on your Wordpress. To do this, make sure you’re logged into an admin account on your Wordpress, and go to “Settings” on the sidebar, then “Writing”, and you should see the XML-RPC posting tickbox.

I know of many people who will get very excited about this, so will do a review this evening and spread the word.

On quick look it would seem to be a seriously cool idea.

  3. Hi, I recorded my first phlog, then turned on XML-RPC posting on my Wordpress blog. Will my first phlog appear at some point or will I have to put it on manually in this case?

  4. Hi Tom,

You’ll have to post it manually I’m afraid – you need to have XML-RPC on before you record!
