Top Tip: Juggle your ipadio accounts more effectively!

If you’re one of our more hardcore users, then you might have more than one ipadio account. I myself have maybe four or five that I use regularly… but how can I manage all of these from one phone? You probably know that you can have up to two registered numbers with each account so that two isn’t a problem – but what if you have more?

The answer is simple – you’ve got to **** it! Don’t worry, that’s not me saying something rude – the trick is the asterix/star key – * – on your phone’s keypad. When you call ipadio from a registered phone whilst the voice on the phone is saying “Welcome to ipadio, the home of phonecasting”, simply tap in **** and it’ll force ipadio’s systems to treat your phone as an unregistered phone.

The voice on the phone should revert and start again, and will inform you that the phone is unregistered, and will prompt you to enter the number of a registered phone. So now you can put in the number of the phone registered to another channel followed by the hash key, and then the pin and phonecast to another channel – easy! Here’s a video I made of myself doing it to show just how easy it is:

I think this is just what I need – having a personal account and a work account: I’d like to use my home phone to make a phlog on the work account.
But will this also work with a/ many totally unregistered phones? We have ESL students who could use their own phones to make a phlog on the work account. Would this **** process work with a phone that is not registered at all?
    Thanks, Jill K

  2. Hi Jill,

If phones aren’t registered at all, when they call in they’ll be prompted to enter a registered number and pin – essentially everything that happens after the **** anyway!

So you can do what you’re trying to do!

Good idea. What if you wish to use the same work or teaching phone with different batches of students? Or different staff on different days?

Can you change the pin number for each batch or each day? For example a batch of students finishes course or attachment and you do not want them to add to the phlog anymore.
