Using ipadio on a French fieldtrip est magnifique!

American French teacher Mimi Jones – or Mme Jones to her students – is currently taking some of her students around Europe on what sounds like an amazing sightseeing trip. They started last week in London and broadcast some ipadio phonecasts from the likes of Windsor Castle and Westminster Bridge and are currently somewhere on the continent – during their latest broadcast at time of writing they were boarding the night-train to Toulouse.

The phlogs have not just been fun for the students and teachers on the trip, but have been a smash-hit with parents. Barbara Goebel, the mother of one of the students has been following the trip from back in the States. She said: “It is a lot of fun for parents to be able to hear their kids talk about their adventures while the action is still fresh in their minds!”

I guess this is a brilliant proof that my musing a few months ago about using ipadio as a bridge between parents and teachers was on to something!

I listened to your phlog waiting at the airport and I think it’s a great idea and your students sounded enthusiastic. What feedback did your students give you in private and were they keen to record the messages? You could tweet me @sammi1964 if you like?

I had not realized that our little experience had been featured once we left London…

Better late than never I guess… Thank you so much

@sammi1964 will look you up right away.
